Jarrett Tenebe is on a boat cruise, in full squandermania mode, while Edo’s collective patrimony begs for bailout from the whims and caprices of the Edo State APC Chairman.
This is the calamity we face. Okpebholo should caution Jarret before it is too late. His emergency extravagant lifestyle points to one direction, Edo’s hard-earned monies are sinking through his unjust quest to live larger than the State itself.
Since when did political party chairman become a license to plunder Edo into financial ICU? The office of a party chairman is not an executive position. It has no budgetary allocation. Yet Jarrett Tenebe lives like a governor-on-tour, globetrotting while Edo bleeds.
Schools have no chairs. Hospitals have no drugs. Roads are craters. Edo people groan. Yet we see photos of opulence on the high seas, champagne lifestyle funded by a state that is not working.
Edo is not working, but Jarrett is globetrotting with State allocation.
This is not leadership. It is economic voyeurism. It is a man feeding fat on a lean state.
Our founding fathers, Ogbemudia, Ali, are turning in their graves. They saved for the rainy day. This
APC generation spends even the dry season’s seed.
The governor must choose: save Edo or save Jarrett. You cannot do both.
If Okpebholo does not rein in his party’s chairman now, history will record that when Edo needed repair, its patrimony was on a boat cruise.
